The International Cup proved to be a very successful concept: an elimination wrestling tournament in which all the girls at the event took part, but distinguished by having each fight over just one fall, pin or submission – a real “sudden death” format. To make it fair for smaller, weaker girls and to avoid mismatches, we held qualifications rounds starting with the four weakest girls at this event. Where losers met the strongest opponent by chance, losers were given a second opportunity to qualify, so that girls arriving at the quarter finals were there by right, not by chance. This set of qualifiers almost became an event between the smaller girls themselves. The one-fall-to-win format brought out extra aggression from the fighters, since they knew giving up would end their part in the tournament. Given the deafening screams from their friends and fans you could be forgiven for believing you were at a football cup final. To avoid spoiling your anticipation we strongly suggest you watch DWW-381 to DWW-384 in sequence. It’s that exciting! Don’t miss it.
